This can be done with any other props and textures so remove whatever you need to and then select “close”. Select the one(s) you want to delete with your mouse and then select “delete”. It will probably read as something like “models/props/deadbodies” or something.

To remove the “deadbodies” prop, for example, you sort by class to “prop-static” and it should be one of the first things to show up on the list.

A box will pop up with a bunch of stuff that you can then filter to find what you need.

To remove props and such from the maps in hammer go to “Map” then “Entity Report”.

(For me, the static prop “deadbodies” and “ferris wheel” won’t render in anything but a wire frame.) You may have to re run maps a few times to get rid of all the problems, so just be patient with it.

Some of the models may produce this weird wire frame when you run the map, so you’ll have to get rid of them first.

bsp file of the map you want (Steam>SteamApps>common>left 4 dead 2>left4dead2>maps) into the root folder you just extracted. bsp file for the map you chose (Steam>SteamApps>common>left 4 dead 2>left4dead2>maps)and extract the “root” folder into the folder you made in the last step. (so far I’ve only been able to get a few from the Dark Carnival campaign- concert, barn, and fairgrounds- to work correctly) Not all maps will work when imported.

In the same folder as the soundcache files create a folder with the name of the map you want to import.

I don’t know if copying the soundcache file over really does anything, but I put it there anyway. Go to “Steam>SteamApps>common>left 4 dead 2>left4dead2>maps” and copy the “soundcache” file folder into the new maps folder of the left4dead2_movies section.Note that I have “sound” in there as well, but it isn’t necessary for this tutorial so you can skip it if you want.Create a new folder in the left4dead2_movies section titled “maps”.I’m pretty sure that would override the official SFM survivor models, and we wouldn’t want that. DO NOT, however, accept to overwrite or merge the folders with the survivors in them. Can be found in “Steam>SteamApps>common>SourceFilmmaker>game>left4dead2_movies” and say yes when asked to merge the files. Once that is done move the “materials” and “models” folder over into the left4dead2_movies folder in SFM.

The file can be found in “Steam>SteamApps>common>left 4 dead 2>left4dead2” and should be at the bottom of the list of. Use GCFScape to extract the file titled “pak01_dir.vpk” into the temporary folder you just made.Create a temporary folder in your documents.Step 2 (aka: the part that also gets the L4D2 prop models into SFM):

Download and unzip the files for GCFScape and BSPSource.This tutorial may be a tad confusing as I had to learn as I went (and I still don’t know all about how exactly this works) and I’m only kinda sub-par at explaining things, but here it goes.
